World's Highest Railway Bridge — Chenab Bridge Inaugurated
On 6th June 2025, India marked a historic moment in transportation with the official inauguration of the Chenab Rail Bridge in Jammu & Kashmir — the world’s highest railway bridge, standing at an astonishing height of 359 meters (1,178 ft) above the Chenab River, surpassing even the Eiffel Tower!
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the bridge, calling it a "symbol of Atmanirbhar Bharat and engineering excellence".
Vande Bharat Express between Katra and Srinagar Flagged Off
In another boost to connectivity, Vande Bharat Express from Katra to Srinagar was flagged off the same day. The route is expected to significantly reduce travel time and bring Kashmir closer to the rest of India with high-speed, smooth and safe rail connectivity.
